My
name is Peter Campbell. I am the Greens candidate for
Kooyong in the 2007 federal election to be held on Saturday 24 November
2007.
You
can help me during
the election campaign so that:
Australia
takes real action on climate change
The
Senate becomes a proper house or review and is not dominated by any
single party
Our
health system is better funded and hospital waiting lists are reduced
Our
public transport system receives federal funding equivalent to that
provided for roads

Some
more information about how you can help
Distribute
leaflets in Kooyong
Round bundles with maps can be picked up from the front
verandah
of 24 May Street Balwyn (Ray and Pam Walford's house).
You can choose a round that suits you
Please mark the round(s) you take on the master sheet
Please return any unused leaflets to the verandah
Tell
everyone you know that voting 1 Greens really counts
Select 1 Greens.
You make a really strong statement that you support the environment,
open and fair government and a sustainable future. If I get enough
votes, I will be elected and will be privileged to represent your views
in parliament so I can work for a better future.
Select 2. This
is your second preference, it is your choice. If I don't get elected,
your vote is distributed to this choice on your ballet paper. The vote is counted again, at
full value.
If you prefer Kevin Rudd, they can give your second choice
to Ken Harvey, the Labor candidate.
If you would like John Howard returned, they can
give
their second choice to Petro Georgiou, the Liberal candidate.
I you prefer other parties (such as the Democrats) above either
Labor or Liberal, can give them your second preference above Labor or Liberal
What
really matters in the end is where you put Labor with respect to the
Liberals. Whichever has the lower number will invariably get your vote.
So if you vote 1 Green, 2 Democrat, 3 Liberal, 4 Labor then the
Liberals will end up with your vote.
Help
the Greens on polling day and at pre polling
Handing
out How to
Vote cards is the most effective way you can support the
Greens as this increases our primary vote. On polling day you can
do one or more shifts (3 hours per shift) to hand out the Greens How
to Vote card.
Prepolling runs for 3 weeks from about 9 to 5 during the week at one or
two locations in Kooyong. If you have spare time during the day
you do a shift to hand out How to Vote cards to people who are voting
prior to the election. We get a high number of Green votes
and pre-polling booths so this as an important though time consuming
task.
Write
a letter to the newspaper and your local MP
Write
a letter on an issue that concerns you
Send
it to the Progress Leader, The Heraldsun, The Age and The Australian
Also
send a copy to Petro Georgiou, the current incumbent in Kooyong and telephone him too.
